Move, Add, Change (MAC)

Office furniture reconfiguration for teams that are staying put. We move desks between floors, add workstations for new hires, and change the layout when a team grows or shrinks.

Overview

What is a move, add, change (MAC)?

Move, add, change is the facilities name for the small moves that happen inside an office all year. A team moves to another floor. New hires need four more desks. A department shrinks and its pod becomes a meeting area. None of it is a relocation, and all of it needs furniture taken apart, moved, and rebuilt without disturbing the people working nearby.

We handle the furniture and equipment side of MAC work: workstations taken apart and rebuilt in a new layout, desks and chairs moved between rooms or floors, filing cabinets moved with their contents, and computers and monitors carried to their new desks. Power and data connections stay with your IT team or electrician, so the hardware arrives padded and labeled for them to reconnect.

Jobs are usually small and best done when the office is quiet, so we schedule them for evenings or weekends. If the whole office is moving, see office moving instead.

How it works

How a MAC job runs

  1. 1

    Send the change list

Who or what is moving, from where to where, and the furniture involved. A marked-up floor plan is ideal.

  2. 2

    Get a written quote

Crew size, hours, and timing in writing before anything moves.

  3. 3

    We move after hours

The crew takes apart, moves, and rebuilds while the office is quiet.

  4. 4

    Ready in the morning

Workstations are rebuilt and labeled equipment is at its new desk for IT to reconnect.

FAQ

Move, add, change questions, answered

What does move, add, change mean?+

It’s the facilities term for ongoing work inside an existing office: moving people and their workstations, adding furniture for new hires, and changing layouts. It’s smaller and more frequent than an office relocation.

Can you reconfigure cubicles and workstations?+

Yes. Cubicle panels and worksurfaces come apart, move, and go back together in the new layout. Tell us the furniture brand or send photos so we bring the right tools.

Who reconnects the computers and phones?+

Your IT team or vendor. We move the computers, monitors, and phones padded and labeled so they can be reconnected at the new desk.

Can MAC work happen after hours?+

Yes. Most MAC jobs happen in the evening or on a weekend so the office stays usable. We move daily, including weekends.

How is MAC work priced?+

By crew size and hours, like our other local work. A few desks across a hallway is a short job; a floor reconfiguration needs a bigger crew and more time. Send the change list and the quote comes back in writing.
